If you are among Android 2.2 Froyo addicts, here’s a good news: LG has officially announced two handsets: the Optimus One and Opitimus Chic, both of which are full-touchscreen devices and run the Android 2.2 operating system. The rumored release date of these two handsets is in November, and probably they will land in Europe first.
From the pictures of the two handsets, the LG Optimus One cell phone and Optimus Chic share much similarity from appearance: both feature a 3.2-inch 480 x 320 pixel capacitive touchscreen display with four buttons on the bottom, and the UI looks exactly the same.
Apart from their similar appearance, both phones come with 600MHz processor, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth 2.1, dual-band WCDMA radio. The only two differences lie in the fact that Optimus One has a 3.2MP camera while Chic features a 5MP shooter, then the One has 1500 mAh battery while the latter pocesses a shorter battery life, namely 1250 mAh.
The price is unknown till this moment but these two devices won’t cost you much. Since they are too similar with each other, people may feel boring at this point. Except from their Android Froyo sytem, I think Optimus One and Chic don’t worth so much attention. If LG wanna be more competitive, he should push forward the phone technology rather than release similar phones.
